I am renewed and refreshed! I went on a silent retreat this week for the first time in my life. The retreat was at Manresa House of Retreats in Convent, LA. It was a wonderful, spiritual experience.
The grounds are beautiful and serene and, of course, I brought my camera to document my experience.
There are single chairs scattered about where one can sit and pray, read, or write. Or perhaps sit and do nothing but listen to the breeze blowing through the trees and the birds singing in the distance.
It felt a bit strange the first day, being unplugged with no TV, internet, or emails. But it was quite refreshing. I would recommend for anyone to take a retreat. But even if it is vacationing on a beach or in the mountains, take the time to look around and document your surroundings with a camera. Have a book made, or create an album of your adventures. You'll enjoy looking back on those memories and in the end, you will be so glad you did.
